Phone Cards
A postpaid calling card is similar to a credit card, except all phone charges are applied to your long distance phone bill. It is issued by your long distance company (either automatically or on request) and enables you to make phone calls when you are not at your home phone.\r\n\r\nOther calling cards are prepaid, which means you pay for the full dollar value of long distance rates or for a certain number of minutes, in advance of using the card.\r\n\r\nTo use your calling card, some phones will allow you to swipe your card, while others will require you to punch in your card number and then punch in your PIN (Personal Identification Number).\r\n\r\nYou can usually request additional calling cards on your long distance account for free. Extra cards are ideal for giving to your spouse while on business, or your kids who may be travelling or away from home at college.
